This morning I had the pleasure of meeting a sweet baby girl. Welcome to the world, Emma Rae!
Of all the things I have to say to first time parents, such as Emma's Mommy & Daddy, I say, "Having a child changes your life... in the most wonderful of ways." And I sincerely mean it.
I've known both of Emma's parents since they were just kids themselves. To me both Gage and Lindsey will perpetually be 8-years-old. Proud Daddy Gage and my brother have been friends since they were little. They've grown up together and I have no doubt their friendship is bound to be life long. I have watched Emma's Mommy Lindsey grow up in kids church and youth group and then on into adulthood.
This precious family of three makes my heart happy. I know Miss Emma Rae is in the most capable and loving hands. All three of them are surrounded by family and friends that love and support them. They need only to be themselves to be outstanding parents.
My blessing for Miss Emma I borrow from The Great Bob (Dylan) -
May God bless and keep you always
May your wishes all come true
May you always do for others
And let others do for you
May you grow up to be righteous
May you grow up to be true
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you
May you always be courageous
Stand upright and be strong
May you stay forever young
Forever young, forever young
May you stay forever young
